Space/ID Madrid

Space/ID Madrid is a 6-days training focusing on art, gender, sexuality and public space that takes place in Madrid (Spain) July 2-9, 2013. The project is promoted by Entre Lineas and in partnership with Betty&Books (IT), OLKE (GR), qSPORT (HR), Rooftop Theater Group (CY). A contribution by external experts of QueerArtLAB project is also foreseen. Space/ID Madrid will engage a group of 18 artists, activists, educators youth workers and youth leaders working on public space, art, gender and sexuality.
The project aims to examine how elements of art and performance shape both identity and public space and seek ways to integrate them towards social change.

By non formal education methodologies, experiential learning, art workshops and action into the public arena, participants are going to improve their competences, in particular their cultural awareness and expression and their sense of initiative and entrepreneurship. Participants will also share best practices and facilitate workshops during planned public events which will also allow international participants and young adults, artists and activists living in Madrid to meet, cooperate, create new partnerships, as well as projects to be developed in participants’ local contexts and follow ups within the framework of Youth in Action Programme and with other type of fund.

Selected participants from Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Spain will be eligible for the reimbursement of 70% of travel expenses, board and accommodation in youth hostel for the full duration of the training.
